Little Chef

The first place we stopped on the way was a Little Chef. In the last decade Little Chef has become very red indeed, while froth and chocolate has been added to the top of the hogwash. The cooked breakfasts looked quite good, but we didn't try one as we were already getting very fat from British food.

The froth and chocolate, by contrast, look quite thinning. :)

wv coins a word in reference to Jules' propensity toward pithy posting: tersess

Very red?

Very very red. So red the whole place was glowing. Sorry if it doesn't come across in the photo. Will try to do better next time...

To elaborate further, from the Little Chef website,
"At the end of 2008 we worked with Michelin-starred chef Heston Blumenthal to revamp Popham as part of the Channel Four series Big Chef Takes on Little Chef. Popham has been a huge hit with loyal, existing and new Little Chef customers and, as a result, has been included in The Good Food Guide 2010 & 2011 (published September, 2009 and 2010)."

It seems that other Little Chef restaurants have been having the makeover since then, with the one we went to near Kettering having been redone in August 2009.

I only found this out because my pic on flickr got invited to join a weird little group devoted to the newly reddened establishments.

Oh. You meant red as in colour, not some new slang phrase.

Now you've gone and ruined everything with that wordy elaboration.
