[jules' pics] fire-flowers

Cancelled last year due to self-restraint, last night was Kamakura hanabitaikai (fireworks).

As the sun set, a zillion people gathered on the beach

The Japanese don't need telling to be self-restrained. It was all very calm - these girls hardly moved during this 8 second exposure.

As a long time resident of Eli's nation's capital and the July 4th fireworks (thanks taxpayers), pictures of fieworks are impressive, being there and capturing the size and color is astounding.

Oh, that's the old fashion, setting fireworks off one or two at a time, with the event stretched out over literally several minutes.

In America, we use computers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrPCEubDZ9A
