Where on google earth?

By the time you read this, I will probably be staying in one of these tents (the dots in and around the running track, which are more obvious if you click for the big version of the pic). The quick-witted amongst you may glean some information as to my whereabouts from the label on this post :-)

The promised budget cuts have come quicker than expected, and you are now sleeping rough?

Another reactor has gone pop, and you've been evacuated?

Turns out there are no longer tents inside the track - we are just to the eastern end of it instead.

HTH :-)

Some interval training on the track will do your 10k time good e.g alternating 400s with 200 recovery

Good on you folks for heading up here and chipping in. You wouldn't be heading anywhere near Yamagata in your Tohoku travails?

Just got back, direct with the Peaceboat bus. Did buy some Yamagata cherries at a motorway service stop though!

Andrew,

Funny you should say that, we actually thought about running but didn't bring trainers in the end and weren't allowed on the track anyway.

(Perhaps more importantly, we didn't have the energy after all the hard labour.)

The cherries have seemed to have a good season here. Hope you enjoy them, or are they just for omyiage?

They were for dessert after a very tasty egoma pork tonkatsu lunch. Only lasted a few miles down the road - yes they were very good.

For omiyage we usually get stuff we don't much like ourselves, to make sure it survives to do its job :-)

A very wise policy on the omiyage - myself I get stuff I like and see how long my willpower holds out. Thus I usually have to buy more omiyage than is necessary...
