Speaking of over-precise measurements, James, per David Appell your favorite surface temp data set has undergone some adjustments, and at first glance it looks as if 2010's position may have improved a bit relative to 1998. Maybe there's hope yet!

David - fortunately, we came by Ryanair this time - the cart might have been more comfortable, but we didn't have the time.
All the Annans are proud to have a reasonably well-cited climate researcher in the family, albeit only by marriage :-)
