Incredible but true

After the superhuman hibernation episode, and the supposed inability of Japanese to tell lambs from poodles, I'm a little unsure that this mundane story of a traffic accident is really bloggable:
A 54-year-old man continued to drive a large motorcycle about 2 km after hitting the center divider on a national highway and losing his right leg below the knee, police said Tuesday.

Kazuo Nagata, a salaried worker, was apparently unaware of the loss of his leg despite the acute pain he experienced from the impact, police said.

However, unlike the previous two stories, this one appears to be true.
