A better class of busker

As spotted on the streets of Shibuya yesterday:

Was this guy hired to play there?
If so, he is not a busker...
None the less - very cool.

You're right, I wasn't really serious about the "busker". But still, it's not every day you see an opera singer on a street corner accompanying himself on a piano! Most of Shibuya is teenage fashion and J-pop which made it seem even more incongruous.

I spent a summer in Victoria, Canada on the streets dressed in a tuxedo playing classical flute duets with a fellow music student. It went over very well and we could make about 60$/hour on the busiest days in the right spots! Once a women actually put a $100 bill in the pot (we had a sign requesting support for two university students).

People do appreciate something different from "another damn guitar" (quoting a patron).

Love Puccini! (forgot to add that)
