The graphic design adopted by Yamanaka's tinber shop in Kamakura is sophisticated. It looks (more or less) like a rabbit, and it also looks like the chinese character 卯 which represent the 4th element of "12 Branches" (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earthly_Branches ). The ideograph of a rabbit is 兎 and not 卯. According to Chinese classics, 卯 originally meant the state where leaves of trees and plants grow.
Ah, the point I only got from following the link is that the 4th element of "12 Branches" actually is the 4th element of the Chinee zodiac, ie the rabbit.
From what I see at Tony's place, Eli is the scariest bunny on the web.
