The Lion lives on Wakamiaooji in Kamakura. I took this photo because doing so entailed lying down in the middle of the road in broad daylight. This is only possible for the first 3 days in January when the road is closed to motor vehicles.

Completely off-topic, but given your interest in climate bets, have you seen this one yet? Seems to be getting a fair amount of participation.
ReplyDeleteOne of the Skeptical Science bloggers (Rob Honeycutt) is betting US$5000 that 2011-2020 will be warmer than 2001-2010. A few others from SkS have jumped in on the same side. So far, the "skeptics" have rounded up about $600 to meet this.
I'll back Rob Honeycutt. I'll even take a stake on how much warmer the decade of the 2010s will be: Decadal global warming
