The growth of the Global Environment Change section is what caused me to come to the AGU this year. It has been rather disappointing though, as it seems to contain little climate science and much squealing of the now sadly deranged prophets of doom. In contrast, at sessions on communication that cover areas of geoscience apart from climate, there is such sweet innocence...

  6. Fortunately you won't have to miss the lovely post-/industrial landscape around the airport, which ought to serve to make you nostalgic for a certain section of Kamakura, if not Kyoto. , Unfortunately, there are no refineries or other major petrochemical sites to be seen.

    Very funny.

    I still don't know what the doom prophets we're going on about exactly, but do we have a bit of a Crisis Cocktail on our hands or not?

    Because if we don't I'm also going to start a blog and post pictures of American culinary culture.
