The growth of the Global Environment Change section is what caused me to come to the AGU this year. It has been rather disappointing though, as it seems to contain little climate science and much squealing of the now sadly deranged prophets of doom. In contrast, at sessions on communication that cover areas of geoscience apart from climate, there is such sweet innocence...

Sadly no extra time now for sightseeing, we can (and did) take a day in advance of the meeting but have to return first thing tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteFortunately you won't have to miss the lovely post-/industrial landscape around the airport, which ought to serve to make you nostalgic for a certain section of Kamakura, if not Kyoto. , Unfortunately, there are no refineries or other major petrochemical sites to be seen.
