If the ocean heat uptake was larger, and the negative aerosol forcing was stronger then you would need a much larger sensitivity to explain the observed warming. Conversely, a low ocean heat uptake and weak aerosols imply a somewhat lower sensitivity (though not as much lower as the high end may be higher).
