But there a longitudinal studies of men into their 70s showing running is good for your legs assuming no preexisting injury.

A hilly 13.5 k is a great training run. Unless you are running quite a bit, the return journey might not be much fun - but you should think about trying one way in pleasant conditions.

Great marathon photos BTWandrewthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04585528907970103334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9959776.post-44925070117203531522011-11-05T07:36:49.156+00:002011-11-05T07:36:49.156+00:00andrewt:

Might give it a go one day though. TBH even the limited running we did has resulted in some niggling aches and injuries, cycling really feels like a much less damaging activity.James Annanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04318741813895533700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9959776.post-85349496988183158142011-11-05T03:45:57.676+00:002011-11-05T03:45:57.676+00:00Gradually replacing some cycling commutes each we...Gradually replacing some cycling commutes each week with running commutes would probably get you sub-40 without much investment in time or painandrewthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04585528907970103334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9959776.post-39543214962188207132011-11-05T01:18:11.056+00:002011-11-05T01:18:11.056+00:00Belette, well I'm not going to go for a 3h jog...Belette, well I'm not going to go for a 3h jog just to prove you wrong :-)

(or even 3:57:24)James Annanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04318741813895533700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9959776.post-78459466748461901132011-11-03T22:16:29.344+00:002011-11-03T22:16:29.344+00:00Not much chance of me ever being "fully train...Not much chance of me ever being "fully trained", I'm happy to say :-)James Annanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04318741813895533700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9959776.post-37615603029717616612011-11-03T11:00:28.220+00:002011-11-03T11:00:28.220+00:00I've yet to get sub-45, so I'm jealous.
